Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council |
|
The Teacher Advisory Council is an important group to the Superintendent of Durham Public Schools. Members of this group serve as the liaison between the DPS Superintendent and his leadership team and the faculty of each school.
Council members and alternates are selected by the faculty of each school and offer input on important district issues.
The teacher must have taught at that school at least one full school year in order to represent the school. For purposes of this membership, teachers may be guidance counselors, media coordinators and other certified educators who provide direct instruction to students. Teacher Council representatives shall serve a period of no more than 3 terms (three school years). The DAE (Durham Association of Educators) has one representative on the Council.
